Our 16th wedding anniversary or is it 17th?
Neither my husband, nor I remember which year we got married, nor do we remember exactly which date we got married. That never bothered us.
We know it is sometime in the middle of July and if we need to be precise, we just ask our friend John, because we got married on his birthday. And, if we need to know which year we were married, we just need to ask my niece Eliza how old she is becuase she was 10 days old when she “attended” our wedding.
We take an entire week in the middle of July and celebrate whenever we can. If we go to John’s birthday party, we celebrate our wedding anniversary as well. Our friends know by now to congratulate us as well.
What I am trying to say is, if you or your spouse doesn’t remember your wedding anniversary, don’t make a big deal out of it. If they don’t love you or treat you right, then, express yourself, talk to them and if nothing comes of it, then consider making a big deal out of it.
